Inter-cultural Communities

Notting Hill has always been one of the most diverse communities in London- from our origin in 1845 until now. Currently the Church is home to 2 Diocesan Chaplaincies- The Filipino Chaplaincy and The Persian Chaplaincy. In addition we host a new worshipping group in Ukrainian for recent arrivals from Ukraine.

St John's is home to the Filipino Chaplaincy. This chaplaincy is ecumenical, and serves Filipinos from across London. There is a Eucharist every Sunday in Tagalog, the national language of the Philippines, as well as a varied programme of social activities. The chaplaincy also offers informal socio-pastoral advice on the many issues facing Filipinos in the UK.
