In this unique film showing, the iconic film Hunchback of Notre Dame, based on the novel by Victor Hugo, will be accompanied by live improvisation on the pipe organ with celebrated classic silent film organist Donald Mackenzie. Presented by Film Fugitive, a cinema that’s always on the run, screening films in unusual and unique locations turning a trip to the movies into an event to remember. Do something different for Halloween this year and join us for this an authentic gothic performance, with an unforgettable movie experience in a spooky candlelit church immersed in the awesome and atmospheric sound of the organ, played in Donald’s inimitable style. With delicious food and fantastic drinks, this is an enjoyable and engaging night out with friends and family.
In a pre-concert talk Donald will explain the thought process behind his improvisation, engaging with those present to make up an improvisation on a set of themes chosen by the audience. So bring along your thoughts and questions ......
